KAREN’S STUDIO POLICY for 2024-25
612-207-6937
Dear Parents,
Below are my 2024-25 studio policies and current tuition rates for you to print, sign and return to me. Signing this form indicates to me that you are aware of and are willing to abide by my policies.
SCHEDULING: Scheduling will continue to be by the quarter with 11 lessons in a 12 week period. Monday students will be rescheduled if they are not able to come on the holidays. Lessons for fall quarter will begin the week of September 9th, 2024. I am offering both in person and online lessons.
TUITION: Tuition is the same this year. Tuition is due at the first lesson of each quarter. Tuition paid later than the first week of the quarter will be raised $20.00. If needed, a payment plan is available and described as follows. Split (half) payments should be made on the 1st and 5th lessons of the quarter in order to avoid a late fee. In order to see the best progress, students should plan to make a commitment to take lessons for the entire school year. In the event of inevitable termination of lessons, I ask for a two week notice in writing and the completion of the current quarter.

1. REGISTRATION (STUDIO) FEE: A non-refundable registration fee of $40.00 per family is charged at the beginning of each year. I will schedule your lesson time slot when I receive your registration fee. Priority scheduling will be given to those students who have taken lessons during the summer.
2. MAKE-UP LESSONS: Only one make-up lesson per quarter will be given, provided there is a 24 hour cancellation notice. During each quarter, there could be 1 or 2 online lessons given, in place of in-person lessons, due to weather, illness or my potential traveling. When appropriate every effort will be made to prepare ahead of time for an online lesson, so that ample progress can be made. If unable to attend a lesson in person, due to bad weather or mild illness, the lesson will be done online at your normal scheduled lesson time. I will make up any lessons that I miss.
3. PARKING: Please park on the street to avoid having to move your car during a lesson.
4. GROUP LESSONS: These classes will depend on the current health requirements of the community.
5. EXPECTATIONS: In order to ensure the success of music lessons for your child, a routine of daily practice and listening to recordings is essential. Getting into a good practice routine at the beginning of the school year is important to build the habit of practicing. See my website page, karenstiles.mymusicstaff.com, on practicing.
6. PARENT MEETING: I will let you know the date of a parent meeting to discuss my studio policies, tips for working with your child, and studio activities (performance opportunities) throughout the year. This meeting at my studio (possibly also on Zoom) will give us a chance to become more acquainted as parents. A calendar of studio events will be provided within the first few weeks of lessons.
PARENT SIGNITURE: Please initial sections 1 through 6, so that I know you have read and agree with my studio policy.
